The Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch is a qualified rating training program, designed to fulfill the requirements of regulation II/4 of the STCW 1978 Convention, as amended, in the deck department of an ocean-going vessel.
The applicant will undergo a comprehensive two-weeks training program, during which they will acquire essential knowledge in basic safety training courses and navigational watchkeeping subjects.
Upon successful completion of the course, the student shall be awarded the Basic Safety Training Certificates, accompanied by the corresponding License issued by the Directorate General of Land and Maritime Transport, valid for a period of 5 years.
To qualify for the Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch, the student must submit documented evidence of completing a minimum of 2 months of sea service and successfully undergo a comprehensive oral evaluation pertinent to this Rating.
